AI for builders and GCs, the grounded answers first

The questions contractors actually ask, answered in plain English with every claim linked to a primary source. Never an invented price, quantity, or code cite. Not a substitute for your license or your building department.

We gave four AIs construction tasks with the prices missing. Three of them invented the prices anyway.50 construction prompts with the unit costs, code facts, and lien deadlines deliberately left out, 200 outputs, a published deterministic screen, no AI judging AI. The three raw systems stated invented figures as fact on 25 to 38 of 50 outputs each. The same Claude model behind Toolroom's grounding rules: 0 of 50.Steve Gustafson · 2026-07-30
