The sub debrief: turn a bad job into a better scope letter

Rung 6 of 10 · Flipped interaction

1 · Learn the move · Flipped interaction

After a sub burns you, the lesson evaporates by the next bid unless you capture it. Flip the interview: instead of you prompting the AI, the AI questions you, one question at a time, until it has the failure cold. Then it converts your answers into new scope-letter and subcontract-checklist language. You lived the problem; the AI's job is to extract it while it's fresh. Do this within a week of closeout or you'll remember the anger and forget the details.

You are a construction operations coach. Interview me about a sub relationship that went bad — ONE question at a time, wait for my answer. Cover: where scope broke, where schedule broke, where money broke, and what the paperwork said. After 6-8 questions, output: lessons learned, and the exact new lines to add to my next scope letter.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

The painter on the Alder job cost you two weeks and $3,100 in overtime for other trades, and half of it traces to things nobody wrote down: who caulks, who does the second coat on repaired drywall, what 'paint-ready' means. Write a prompt that makes the AI interview you about the mess, then turn your answers into next job's scope language.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
