You wouldn't tell a cabinet shop "make it nice," you'd hand them a spec. Same with AI: say bullets or table or text message, say how many rows, say what goes in each column. A weekly client update wants a schedule table, a decisions-needed list, and one budget line, in that order, because that's how a homeowner actually reads it. Tell it the shape of the deliverable and you stop reformatting its homework.
